Summary

Frontend Canister Upgrade

This release brings notifications to iOS. Apple delivers web push only to a web app installed on the Home Screen, so Internet Identity now ships one of its own: install ICP Alerts from the prompt in sign-in or from Settings, and the apps you have granted permission can reach you on iPhone and iPad as they already do elsewhere.

What's Changed

_Since proposal-frontend-144479_

  • feat(be,fe): Internet Identity signs and seals its own web push (#4489)
  • test(fe): the Home Screen app end to end, from install to delivery (#4456)
  • feat(fe): the install handoff in sign-in, and a switch in Settings (#4451)
  • feat(fe): finding the app this device already has (#4450)
  • feat(fe): the service worker that shows notifications in the app (#4449)
  • feat(fe): the ICP Alerts page, in Safari and on the Home Screen (#4448)
  • feat(fe): the app's own key, and the URL that installs it (#4458)

Wasm Verification

To build the wasm modules yourself and verify their hashes, run the following commands from the root of the Internet Identity repository:

git pull # to ensure you have the latest changes.
git checkout 84f611de82b7dc78a7d5537ceef2f1390ac9f39d
./scripts/verify-hash --iife-hash 5d8bd0a5f43f4cda952fab6f4f6c5c4ee2824f37f735295ad4774d850ecf72cd

Frontend Argument Verification

Run the following command to verify the frontend upgrade argument hash:

didc encode -d ./src/internet_identity_frontend/internet_identity_frontend.did -t '(InternetIdentityFrontendInit)' '(record {
  backend_canister_id = principal "rdmx6-jaaaa-aaaaa-aaadq-cai";
  backend_origin = "https://backend.id.ai";
  related_origins = opt vec {
    "https://id.ai";
    "https://identity.ic0.app";
    "https://identity.internetcomputer.org";
    "https://identity.icp0.io";
    "https://identity.icp.net";
  };
  analytics_config = opt opt variant {
    Plausible = record {
      domain = opt "identity.internetcomputer.org";
    }
  };
  featured_dashboard_apps = opt vec {
    "https://caffeine.ai";
    "https://oisy.com";
    "https://oc.app";
    "https://multidex.ai";
    "https://opencloud.org";
  };
})' | xxd -r -p | sha256sum

The output should match the argument hash.
